outreach program, international photographic competition, education portal and exhibitions.
TransparenSEA an innovative photographic exhibition that fuses, science, art and storytelling to create an immersive experience that explores the art of science and the science of art. It’s a cross pollination of disciplines designed to appeal to a wide audience by creating a colourful narrative that explores the inner workings of the underwater world using the ancient scientific technique of diaphonisation.
Ocean Literacy Portal
A centralised portal for ocean literacy is non-existent which makes it difficult to teach. Magnified is the information available is often unsystematic and outdated. Resources for southern shores/temperate marine environments are basically non-existent. To address this and to develop a framework for an Ocean Literacy a review with key stakeholders will be undertaken and recommendations made with a view to establish a portal for Victoria and expanding this out nationally and internationally.
