    Worms

    Who are they?

    This common name refers to various phyla that are abundant on coral reefs. It includes, but is not restricted to, flatworms (Platyhelminthes), segmented worms (Polychaetes), ribbon worms (Nemertea) and peanut worms (Sipuncula).

    Characteristics

    • Bilaterally symmetrical

    • Bodies longer than they are wide

    • Lack legs

    • Lack protective shell
