Guy Harvey Research Institute

The Guy Harvey Research Institute is a research partner with OceansIQ. Together we study the movement and migrations of large sharks, such as tiger sharks.


Located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA, the Institute is a collaboration between renowned marine artist, scientist and explorer, Dr Guy Harvey and Nova Southeastern University's Oceanographic Centre.

James Cook University

James Cook University supports OceansIQ by providing infrastructure and facilities.


JCU's Cairns campus is ideally located in its proximity to the Great Barrier Reef. Over 4,000 students study at JCU Cairns, including about 380 international students. The campus location is spectacular – surrounded on three sides by rainforest-covered mountains. Located near the northern beaches in the suburb of Smithfield, the campus is 15 kilometres (9 miles) north of the city centre.


TropWATER is a research affiliate with OceansIQ.


The Centre for Tropical Water and Aquatic Ecosystem Research (TropWATER) undertakes influential research in fields related to water science, resource management and the ecology of water ecosystems.
